Maybe that's just payback for some of the bad calls that go GC's way in other sports...karma is a beotch.
I hope somebody knows the name of the ref that called the GC/Glenvair game today...because he was the pits....and sends him the message that the GC fans were very unhappy today...and if anybody wants proof watch the replay...he would make bad calls and stand up there laughing and grinning about when he did it....I hope someone will send the film to VHSL and have his privilege revoked to be able to call another state game...and the postee on here AOA official I hope you read this too...you are always defending the refs...well watch the replay and see what you think....I have been around volleyball for several years(about 6) and have never seen anything so obvious as the calling was this year.....the team out of rotation and they never do anything about it...!!!! so girls...nervous got you the first game...the ref got you the last 5 points on the 2nd game....and frustration got the third..dont hang your heads...if the refs would have let the girls play who knows what the outcome would have been...and if we had not been hit w/ the stomach flu the outlook could have been different...Good luck next year girls!

That's a good one. Most of the time the bad calls go both ways, but I have seen them go GC's way sometimes but more than not they go the other way lately.

Listen folks, I'm from GC, have been all my long life. In sports it's generally cosidered that if you lose by a point or two in any sport, a referees call COULD have effected the outcome, but when you lose like we did yesterday 3-0 its highly unlikely refereeing cost us the entire match. Now having said that, I would like to say congrats to our Lady Devils on another great season. Two champioships and a runner-up finish in three years is nothing to hang your heads about.
Agree. Glenvar was a pretty good team. I think I read they had only lost 3 games all year. But the only game that was really close was the second one mentioned 26-24 so a bad call or 2 could have made a difference there. I don't know I wasn't there. But as you say they did have a great season and are having a great run the past few seasons.

Volleyball is all about momentum. I've seen teams lose matches simply because the bad call killed their momentum.
I have to side with gcmom here as I've been to my share of state playoff matches and have been disappointed with the officiating. Stuff that you don't see called all year suddenly comes to the front. That's another momentum killer as you have players frustrated over calls that are inexplicable to them.
RC has had its share of bad calls in the tournament, and I can point to at least two finals that I thought the wins by the other teams were tainted by bad officiating.
I don't mind getting beat by a better team, but I hate the "I wonder what the outcome would have been with better officiating" cloud that lingers in your mind.
"Yes, there are two paths you can go by
But in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on."
If he cost them one game in a state level match - it is TOO many. And he the person thinks it is laughable , perhaps it would be time to come down off the ole perch. They are kids and to rob them of a chance at a win is wrong. I'd probably consider taking something of his , if the replay bore out the line of thought posted here. dont get me wrong here - momentum is huge and a referee can take that away - we've all seen it before especially by one or two - but still yesterday I think the best team won. I will say some calls were questionable yesterday and i think the film will show that - I was there and saw some things differently than the officials thats for sure.
That is just my way of seeing things... The laughter is what I would have a problem with. I solve problems for a living.
cry me a river.....do you want some cheese with that whine?....talk about a lack of class, the gc coach calling out the referees in the newspaper.
